Christine Heenan

Christine Heenan, founder and president of the Clarendon Group has recently been appointed vice president for government, community and public affairs at Harvard University.

Before founding Clarendon in 2001, Christine served as senior policy analyst on the White House Domestic Policy Council during the first term of the Clinton Administration, where she worked on health and women’s issues. She also worked closely with the speechwriting office, writing speeches for President Clinton, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, and Tipper Gore. Christine has also written speeches for Senator Chris Dodd, three Brown University presidents, and other elected and appointed officials. She served in communications roles at both the 1996 and 2000 Democratic Conventions, working as liaison to the party chairman’s speechwriting operation in 1996, and with online media in 2000.

Christine has also served as the director of community and government relations at Brown University and Brown Medical School, where she oversaw federal, state, and local relations for Brown. She also directed the university’s in-house public affairs consulting arm. Before entering politics and communications, Christine worked as a business strategy consultant, advising national clients and international including Corning, Rubbermaid, IKEA North America, and Ahlstrom.

She holds a B.S. in Journalism from Boston University and has completed graduate work at Brown University.
